Two individuals arrested for attending a controversial news briefing organised by parliamentarian Rajitha Senaratne have been further remanded until January 6, 2020.
The order was issued when the case was taken up before Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today (Dec 27).
One of the accused claimed that he was a “white van” driver involved in abducting people before 2015 while the other claimed he once served as a driver to transport a stock of gold in previously LTTE-held areas.
MP Senaratne too is facing arrest over the media conference.
