Two Sri Lankan males, aged 25 and 26 years residing at Danowita & Ragama respectively, working at duty free shops of the BIA have been apprehended while attempting to smuggle out some Gold Jewelery, Gold Biscuits and Gold pieces, weighing 3.103kgs, valued at 24,489,480/- from the Airport premises, by the Customs Officers at BIA.
Detection was made by M. G. D Dilhara, W. M. M. P Dharmarathne, P. W. K De Lanka, D. R. S. B Dasanayake, H. G. L Samantha, W. H. K. H Perera Assistant Superintendendts of Customs attached to the Customs on duty at BIA. Investigations are being carried out by Mr. T Loganathan Superintendent of Customs and his team under the supervision of S. P. Arukkoda, D. P. M Goonawardena, Deputy Directors of Customs as per the directives of Mrs. R. P Gankewela, Director of Customs, BIA.
