Two persons have died after the footboard on a bus had broken off while it was on a journey from Colombo to Kandy today (Jun 9).
The deceased have been identified as R. Sekar, the bus conductor, and another passenger from Molagoda.
It is reported that the conducter had been run over by the bus when the footboard had broken off while taking a turn in Kadugannawa.
Police said that the body of the conductor currently lies at the Kadugannawa District Hospital while the remains of the deceased passenger lie at the Mawanella hospital.
