Northern Provincial (NP) Councillors Ananthi Sasitharan and K. Sarveswaran took oaths as temporary Northern Provincial Ministers before Governor Reginald Cooray this morning.
Accordingly Ananthi Sasitharan took oaths as the Cooperative, Social Services and Women Affairs, Rehabilitation, Food Supply and Distribution, Industrial and Skills Development Minister while K. Sarveswaran took oaths as the Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister.
The Chief Minister office said the two new appointments are on a temporary basis of three months until a select committee finalised individuals for the posts after consulting ruling parties in the council.
