Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the drive-by shooting of a restaurant in Mount Lavinia on May 29.
On June 14, a group of officers from the Mount Lavinia Police arrested the alleged driver of the car used by the gunmen to carry out the shooting. The suspect was taken into custody while in hiding in Buttala.
A team of officers from the Dehiwala Police today (19) arrested the 56-year-old mother of this suspect along with another male suspect aged 24 in Moratumulla.
Police Media Unit stated that a search of the female suspect's home in Moratumulla uncovered a locally manufactured 'Galkatas' firearm, three live rounds of 9mm ammunition, six empty T56 ammunition casings and a toy pistol hidden inside a water tank.
Both suspects have been handed over to the Mount Lavinia Police for further investigations.
