Two students probed over use of mobile phones during O/L exam

Two students who are candidates at the 2017 GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) Examination are currently under investigation for allegedly answering yesterday's Mathematics Question Paper using the aid of mobile phones. The students are from Anuradhapura and Colombo. 

A student who sat the exam at an examination center in Anuradhapura was questioned by police yesterday after it emerged that he had allegedly used viber to answer questions from the paper by smuggling a mobile phone into the exam hall. Police have now taken charge of the mobile phone allegedly used by the candidate as well as his answer scripts from yesterday's paper. Meanwhile, the Department of Examination has suspended candidate suspended from sitting for further papers during the exam. 

Meanwhile, a second candidate who sat for the exams at a leading school in Colombo is also being questioned over allegations of using a mobile phone during the exam yesterday.
