Two young brothers aged five and seven years old died yesterday after falling into a pit in a paddy land located near to their residence in Mandaitivu, Jaffna, police said.
The incident occured when the two brothers were playing in the field when their father was away for work. Earlier neighbours rented a becho machine to dig a pit in the adjacent farming land.
Kayts police are conducting further investigations over the incident as the whole village is mourning for the death of the two young brothers. (NL)
