UN resident coordinator Hanaa Singer called on Northern Province Governor Suren Raghavan at the latter's office today (Feb 14).
Matters pertaining to the current situation of the people in the North following the war and the present situtaion of the people belonging to the Northern and Eastern provinces who were living in refugee camps in India, were discussed at the meeting.
The two officials had also discussed about the development in the Northern region and the measures taken by the government to release lands belonging to the people.
Several other UN representatives and Northern Province Secretary N. Ilangovan were also present at the meeting.
