A complaint has been lodged with the Criminal Investigations Department by the Parliamentary Secretary General pertaining to a forged letter circulating on social media.
The Speaker's Office issuing a statement refuted reports circulating on social media that the Speaker directed a letter to the Chief Justice Nalin Perera requesting clarification over the present political crisis.
The Speaker’s Office said that the letter that is circulating on social media has been falsified. Further, based on instructions issued by the Speaker, the Parliamentary Secretary General has lodged a complaint at the CID.
