Six individuals including popular singer Rookantha Gunathilaka and former SLFP electoral organisers have been appointed as electoral organisers of the United National Party.
The appointments were made by UNP leader Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today (Feb 11).
Accordingly, former Deputy Minister and SLFP electoral organiser for Aranayake, Lalith Dissanayake who crossed over to the UNP was appointed as the UNP's organiser of the Aranayake electorate.
In addition, former Provincial Council Minister and SLFP's Senkadagala district organiser Thilina Bandara was appointed as the UNP's electoral organiser for the Pathumbara electorate.
Meanwhile, popular singer Rookantha Jayathilaka was appointed as the district organiser for Dambadeniya while MP Kavinda Jayawardana received his appointment as Meegamuwa District organiser of the UNP.
Further, Manjula Bandara and Udaya Wijenayake were appointed as the district organisers for the Wariyapola and Hiriyala electorates respectively.
UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, Ministers Sagala Ratnayake and Malik Samarawickrama were also present at the occasion.
