UNP supporters in Anamaduwa took to the streets to celebrate the Supreme Court’s verdict to declare the President’s Parliament dissolution gazette as null and void.
Meanwhile, UNP MP Palitha Range Bandara had also joined the celebrations while visiting the area.
Speaking to the media, MP Range Bandara said the verdict of the judiciary had proven its independence while winning the hearts of the people.
He further said that Ranil Wickremesinghe will undoubtedly be appointed as Prime Minister in due course.
Our correspondent noted that the supporters had taken measures to clean the streets following the celebration.
