The United National Party will on Thursday decide on action to be taken against MP Ranjan Ramanayaka over the controversial voice recordings.
Party General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam will make his recommendations to party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe on the action against Mr Ramanayaka.
The move comes amidst differences within the party about the controversial phone conversations.
Meanwhile Minister Wimal Weerawansa told Parliament today that there was a move to seek a court order to prevent media institutions broadcasting the recordings.
Mr Weerawansa said that though the UNP claims that the Police had leaked the recordings to the media the correct position was that before the police took into custody the recordings they had leaked from Mr Ramanayaka’s house . “It is upto him to findout how the recordings leaked”, he added. (DW)
