The 70th anniversary of the United National Party will be celebrated on January 7, 2018, at Campbell Park at 9.00 am.
According to media reports, the anniversary celebration will be held under the headship of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.The party anniversary which was to be held last September in Ratnapura was canceled due to adverse weather conditions at that time.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
