UPFA MP Manusha Nanayakkara in a letter to the President has resigned from his Ministerial portfolio of Deputy Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment.
MP Nanayakkara in his letter noted that his democratic conscience has been questioned as the international community has not recognized the new government.
He also added that he would accept Ranil Wickremesinghe as Prime Minister.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
