UPFA parliamentarian Dinesh Gunawardena has said that the UPFA MPs would occupy their seats in the opposition during the next parliamentary session which be held on December 18.
MP Gunawardena said Mahinda Rajapaksa’s name would be nominated for the post of Opposition Leader in Parliament.
The manner in which the opposition would function in future would be discussed at a meeting between the parliamentarians of his party on December 18, the UPFA MP said.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
