Executive Director of the Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) Keerthi Tennakoon who was recently sworn in as the Governor of the Uva Province has taken oaths as the Governor of the Southern Province today (Jan 09).
Accordingly, Marshall Perera took oaths before the President as the new Governor of the Uva Province.
Mr. Perera served as the Governor of the Southern Province until December 31 last year.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of the Western Province, Isuru Devapriya said that there is no difference between a Chief Minister and a Governor.
He made this remark when Western Province Governor Azath Salley assumed office today.
