Former minister Vijayakala Maheswaran, through her lawyers today (Oct 18) informed court she would be willing to make a statement in a case filed against her remarks allegedly concerning the revival of the LTTE.
Ms. Maheswaran had allegedly made these remarks during an event in Jaffna in July 2018, and was arrested for violating the Penal Code, before being granted bail.
Police told Court, today, that they are yet to receive legal advice from the Attorney General's Department, as they had made a request to that effect.
The case will be taken up for further hearing on November 1.
