Additional Solicitor General Viraj Dayaratne PC has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC), the Ministry of Finance has informed the SEC on Tuesday evening, capital market sources said.
Mr. Dayaratne takes over from A. R. Deshapriya, the Deputy Secretary to the Treasury who was the acting Chairman of the SEC since December 3, 2019. Mr. Dayaratne will be assuming duties at the SEC tomorrow (Wednesday). (DEC)
