The Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court re-issued an open warrant on former Sri Lanka Ambassador to the US, Jaliya Wickramasuriya.
Warrants were also re-issued for Wickramsuriya's wife and a relative. Wickramasuriya has been charged with misappropriating USD132,000 during the purchase of an office building in the US.
In 2017, Wickramsuriya left the country on approval of the court to seek medical attention in US for a period of two months. However, he has absconded arrest since then.
The case will be taken up once again on January9, 2019.
