Water cut in certain areas in the Kalutara district tomorrow
Water supply will be cut-off to certain areas in the Kalutara District tomorrow (Oct 9), the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) said.
The NWSDB said that the water cut will be in effect from 8 am to 8 pm.
This would be due to certain maintenance activities of the Ceylon Electricity Board which would cause disruptions in power supply to the Kethhena Water Treatment Plant.
The following areas would be affected by the water cut ;
- Wadduwa
- Waskaduwa
- Pothupitiya
- Kalutara (North / South)
- Katukurunda
- Nagoda
- Payagala
- Pilaminawatta
- Bombuwala
- Maggona
- Beruwala
- Kaluwamodara
- Moragalla
- Alutgama
- Darga town
- Bentota

SLAF Bell 212 crashes into Maduru Oya
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.

Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
