President Maithripala Sirisena emphasizes that all necessary measures to ensure national security are being taken. He added that a series of steps were taken during last three months in this regard.
The President pointed out that every stakeholders of national security should take care of their responsibilities at all circumstances.
The president was speaking at the opening of the Southern Campus of the John Kotalawela Defense University in Sooriyawewa, yesterday. The Southern Campus constructed in a 160-acre land in Sooriyawewa in the Hambantota district will offer five degree courses initially.
President explained that several foreign heads of state have extended their willingness to support for providing training for the war heroes of the country, equipping their knowledge with novel technology.
The president also appreciated the service rendered by the war heroes to the society after the 30 years long conflict. He noted that they have set an example while engaging in humanitarian activities in Nepal.
