Sri Lankan authorities have issued new regulations to all factories to ensure that random testing be carried out following the recent COVID-19 outbreak at the Brandix factory in Minuwangoda.
The Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) General Secretary Tuly Cooray told Times Online said that after the Brandix COVID-19 cluster all companies will have to go through the same process. of regular testing.
He noted that there will be additional responsibilities like 5 per cent of the workforce being requested to be tested on a weekly basis in all factories. Commenting on any possible concerns by buyers, he said so far there have been no queries to their knowledge. (SD)
