Police today exhumed the body of an estate worker in Nuwara Eliya after revelations that the man had been murdered by his wife with a forceful shot on his his head with a hammer, despite previous claims that he died of a fall.
The worker Alugumale had reportedly slipped on a step on the way to his home and had injured himself last month and succumbed to his injuries. However, on a tip-off to the police investigations were carried out and a neighbour had confirmed that the man had been murdered
Following investigations carried out the wife was arrested was later confirmed that he was murdered.
