Wild elephant attack claims life of teenager
A teenager has died after being attacked by a wild elephant in Sammanthurai yesterday (Aug 29).
Police have identified the victim as 14-year old U.L. Jahir Munshid, a resident of Nintavur.
The body of the boy has been handed over to his relatives following an autopsy and a magisterial inquest.
Sammanthurai police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
