A woman has been killed while another was left injured in an accident involving a three-wheeler and a bus in Polwatta today (Sept 12).
Police said the accident had occured when the three-wheeler had tumbled over after losing control and had collided with a bus which had been heading in the opposite direction.
The three-wheel driver and the woman had been admitted to the Homagama hospital following which the passenger had died. The driver has been transferred to the Sri Jayawardenapura hospital for further treatment.
According to the police, the victim has been identified as 30-year old Ishani Gunaratne, a resident of Badulla. Her remains currently lie at the Homagama hospital.
Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
