World Bank Vice President for South Asia Hartwig Schafer called on President Maithripala Sirisena at the latter's official residence today (Feb 16).
"I conveyed that the World Bank, a partner of more than 60 years, stands ready to support the government" Mr. Scahfer said on his Twitter handle following the meeting.

Secretary to the President Udaya Seneviratne, World Bank Resident Representative, President’s Economic Advisor Dr Sarath Rajapathirana and NEC Secretary General Prof Lalith Samarakoon were also present during this occasion.
