The writ quo warranto filed against the premiership of Mahinda Rajapaksa will be taken up before the Court of Appeal today (Nov 30).
The petition which comprised 122 signatories of MPs,from parties such as the UNP, JVP and TNA was submitted to the Appeal Court on November 23.
The petitioners requested court to issue a writ stating that Mahinda Rajapaksa along with the newly appointed Minister's and Deputy Ministers cannot function in their respective positions.
The case will be heard before a two-member trial-at-bar comprising Court of Appeal President, Justice Preethi Padman Surasena and Justice Arjuna Obeysekara.
