The writ petition challenging the appointment of Mahinda Rajapakse as PM and 49 other cabinet ministers and deputy ministers will be taken up before the Court of Appeal today (Dec. 12).
On December 03, the Appeal Court issued an interim injunction barring Mr Rajapaksa and his cabinet from functioning as Prime Minister and cabinet ministers respectively.
Accordingly, Appeal Court President, Justice Preethi Padman Surasena and Justice Arjuna Obeysekera had granted leave to proceed and issued notice on the respondents to appear before Court and make submissions.
The injunction order will be effective until the conclusion of the hearing of this petition.
