The High Court today granted permission to Yoshitha Rajapaksa to travel overseas for one month to receive medical treatment. Rajapaksa, who was released on bail after being arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, had requested through his attorneys the release of his passport. The passport was handed over to the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa had requested to travel claiming that he required surgery on his foot. The court granted permission for Rajapaksa to travel overseas for 1 month in order to receive medical treatment and ordered that his passport be released on two surety bail of Rs 1 million each.
