Western, North Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces as well as Galle and Matara districts are to receive heavy rainfall as a result of an atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of the island.
A heavy rain advisory has been issued by the Meteorology Department a short while ago. Heavy rain above 100 mm are expected in the above provinces and districts.
Avissawella in Colombo district has received the highest rainfall today with 103 mm followed by Padukka (83mm).
