A suspect who allegedly created and circulated a fake Rs. 5000 note featuring the image and signature of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on social media has been remanded till November 11 after being produced before the Kesbewa Magistrate's Court.
The suspect, a 38-year-old resident of Karathota, Athurugiriya, was arrested following an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
He was produced before the Kesbewa Magistrate's Court yesterday and was remanded till November 11.
