A new district general hospital was declared open in Nuwara Eliya by President Maithripala Sirisena today (Jul 15).
The hospital was constructed through a Rs 7 billion grant from the Dutch government, the President's Media Division noted.
Among the facilities at the hospital are a ward with 600 beds, an Intensive Care Unit, an Accident Ward, and housing quarters for nurses.
A pharmacy and a dialysis unit too have been constructed within the hospital.
