Let’s build a safer world for our children. Providing Nourishment to our children in a Secure and Responsible Way

Press Release

Proper nutrition plays a vital role in safeguarding a child's physical and mental well-being. Providing a well-balanced and nourishing diet is of utmost importance. Parents should assume the responsibility of ensuring their child's dietary needs are met with utmost care and attentiveness.

In the event of a choking incident where a child accidentally swallows a solid object, such as a grain, certain symptoms may arise, including spontaneous coughing, breathing difficulties, and noisy breathing. If the child exhibits mild coughing, it is important to encourage them to continue coughing. For children under the age of 2, they should be positioned with their stomach and chest resting on the left palm, while older children should be bent over with their head facing down and hit them on their back with your palm inward and upward. By adopting these measures, any obstruction may be dislodged, resulting in the child coughing. Alternatively, performing abdominal thrusts by applying gentle pressure to the child's stomach in an upward direction using both hands (up to five times) can also be attempted. If these initial remedies, which can be carried out at home, do not provide relief or if the situation worsens, it is imperative to promptly seek medical attention at the nearest hospital.

In the case of food poisoning, symptoms such as vomiting, indigestion, blood in the stool, fever, and occasional signs of depression in the child may manifest. In such instances, it is essential to ensure the child receives an adequate amount of water and electrolyte-rich fluids to prevent dehydration. However, if the child refuses to consume food and fluids, experiences severe vomiting, high fever, or significant blood loss in their stools, immediate medical intervention should be sought.

When offering snacks to children, it is advisable to avoid high-energy options that quickly fill up the stomach due to their concentrated calorie content. Instead of sugary biscuits and salty snacks, it is preferable to provide children with simple yet nutritious alternatives such as yogurt and tri-posha.

Rising food costs have posed a challenge for parents in meeting their child's nutritional requirements. However, it is crucial to prioritize a balanced diet that effectively and efficiently addresses these needs to prevent health issues and malnutrition in children.
