Skipper Chamari Athapaththu slammed her 11th half century as Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 3 wickets to reach the finals of the Women’s Asia Cup.
Chasing 141 to win Sri Lanka were in a spot of bother early in but Athapaththu led from the front, putting on a show to win the match. Hosts Sri Lanka will now meet India in the finals on Sunday.
Athapaththu departed for a well made 63 off 48 with Sri Lanka still needing a run a ball 21 and despite Pakistan’s grit, Sri Lanka held their nerve to cross the line.
