The 94th National Athletic Championship, conducted by the Athletic Association of Sri Lanka (AASL), will be held from Friday (8) to Sunday (10) at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in, Giyagama, Homagama.
This three-day meet will also serve as the final opportunity for potential athletes who are attempting to qualify for Rio Olympics, with the deadline set for July 11.
Altogether 800 athletes will take part in the championship where over 100 officials registered at AASL, are set to get involved.
The event will also serve the purpose as selections to form a national pool of athletes for the South Asian Games, according to AASL president, Sugath Thilakaratne.
