Gampaha District Masters Athletics Association will conduct its All-Island Masters Open Athletics Championship on February 28 and March 1 at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike (Sri Bodhi) grounds in Gampaha. Over 700 athletes both men and women ranging from age groups of 35 to 90 years are expected to take part in this meet and will compete in 18 track and field events during these two days. The organisers are considering in providing accommodation to the athletes who are coming from outstations. The closing date for applications had been extended to January 27.
