The 22nd Travel Trade Sports Club Badminton Championships 2017, sponsored by Serendib Leisure Hotels for the seventh successive year will be held on September 17, 2017 at S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia Indoor courts commencing 9.00am.
Entries have been called from the 160 strong TTSC Membership to be forwarded to the General Secretary, TTSC, Anushka Perera c/o, Connaissance de Ceylan, 'Le Cube', 130 High Level Road, Kirulapone, Colombo 6.
Entries will close on September 14 at 3.00pm.
The tournament will be conducted in two categories, the 'Open' and the 'Veterans' (Men Over-40 and Women Over-35) on a team championship basis.
The 'Open' will consist of one each of Men's Single, Men's Double, Women's Single, Women's Double and Mixed Double.
The 'Veterans' will consist of one Men's Single, one Women's Single and a Mixed Double.
In the previous tournament held last year in September at the same venue, Walkers Tours won the 'Open' beating Cinnamon Grand Colombo 'B' 3/1 in the final while the Veterans was won by Sri Lankan Airlines, beating Walkers Tours 2/0 in the final.
This will be the fifth event in the TTSC multi sports events calendar, having completed the Bowling, Archery, Pool and the Futsal 5-a- side soccer.
