The inaugural Inter-Bank Team Badminton Championship organised by the Seylan Bank Sports Club, will be held in March at the Mercantile Badminton Association headquarters in Colombo.
The tournament, Sri Lanka Badminton Super League – Battle of the Bankers 2016, will have 14 teams representing ten licensed Commercial and Specialized Banks.
The organisers are yet to confirm a date for the planned four-day tournament which includes championships in Grand Slam, Cup and Plate categories.
Each tie will consist of seven matches which includes two men’s singles, two women’s singles, one men’s double, one women’s double and one mixed double
Bank of Ceylon, Commercial Bank, Hatton National Bank, Seylan Bank ‘A’ and ‘B’, Nations Trust Bank ‘A’, Nations Trust Bank ‘B’, National Development Bank, HSBC ‘A’ and ‘B’, Union Bank, Pan Asia Bank, Sanasa Development Bank ‘A’ and ‘B’ are the teams that have confirmed participation.
