The curtain came down on a hotly contested Li-Ning Inter Firm Doubles Team Badminton Championship 2015 where 50 teams from 39 mercantile firms took part. MAS Holdings won the Grand Slam with Brandix Apparels ‘A’ and HDDES Extracts emerging champs in the Cup and Plate segments respectively. Organised and conducted by the Mercantile Badminton Association with Li-Ning being the main sponsor, 381 men’s players and 133 women players competed. A record number of 465 matches were played at the Mercantile Badminton Headquarters courts over the weekend. Every champion team didn’t find things easy with and had to fight all the way to the finals as the tournament turned out be a highly contested event from the first round. Every team in the contest showed that their main target is a win and it was evident in the four final matches as every match went on for the fourth while in the Plate final it was a closely contested event which went for five games.
