St. Joseph’s College beat Ananda College 47-34 to win the All-Island Schools Under-17 Basketball Championship played at the St. Josephs’ College Basketball Court in Colombo on Monday (13). St. Joseph’s led the first quarter 11-6 and maintained their consistency to lead the halftime by 28-18. Shiranga de Silva of the victorious St. Joseph’s side scored 22 points and was adjudged the Most Valuable Player. Yeshan Sahara of Ananda College won the award for the Best Offensive Player. Josephian skipper Shenal Samuel was named the Best Defensive Player. Asian International School (AIS) Colombo won the third place playoff beating Royal College 47-38 earlier on.
