Asoka Vidyalaya recorded a comfortable 5-wicket victory against traditional rivals, Presidents College Kotte in the 13th Battle of Golds Limited Overs Big Match played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday (30).
The match turned out to become a low-scoring affair after Presidents elected to bat first and were skittled out for 85 runs just after the halfway mark of their innings.
Despite chasing a simple target, Asoka too had to go through some uncertain moments.
Presidents Kotte 85 all out (25.4) (Thigian Thewmika 22, Vihanga Shamika 5/14, Rahul Chandrasekara 4/10)
Asoka Vidyalaya 89 for 5 wickets (23.5) (Anuk Pasandula 23n.o., Iranga Hashan 3/24)
