Chamil Cooray and Roshita Joseph won the Men’s and Women’s Singles titles respectively at the 48th National Carrom Championship held at the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka (CFSL) headquarters in Kohuwala.
Cooray won the Men’s Singles title for the 12th time by defeated World Carrom Champion Nishantha Fernando in an evenly contested final.
Having went on to win a triple by pocketing the Men's Doubles championship with Brindley Wickramasinghe and the Mixed Doubles championship with Arosha Wickrmasinghe.
Roshita won the Women's Singles title for the fifth occasion defeating former champion Chalani Lakmali comfortably.
Lalith Hewage went on to win the Veteran's Singles title beating Kaviranga Perera.
This tournament was held under six categories -- Men's Single, Men's Doubles, Women's Single, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Veteran's Singles during nine days from January 16 with the participation of over 350 players.
