Cricket: Aravinda comes in as SLC advisor, Charith Senanayake appointed team manager

President of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Thilanga Sumathipala revealed today (12) that Aravinda de Silva will be involved with the game as SLC's Advisor.

"Aravinda (de Silva) took a daunting responsibility to head the National Selection Committee for a short period. He will be replaced by Sanath Jayasuriya but cricket surely needs Aravinda's expertise and he has agreed to contribute as Advisor for SLC," Sumathipala stated at a press conference held at SLC headquarters today.

Sumathipala also disclosed that former Sri Lanka cricketer and former team manager Charith Senanayake will the manager of the Sri Lanka Cricket team.

"Charith (Senanayake) has been appointed as the team manager for Sri Lanka's tour to England and Australia's tour of Sri Lanka."
