The Ceylon Association of Shipping Agents (CASA) will conduct its 19th Annual 6-A-Side Softball Cricket Tournament next Saturday (25) at the NCC grounds.
CASA has been the leading voice in the Shipping industry in Sri Lanka for the past 5 decades, with a membership of 134 licensed Shipping Agents representing all international Shipping lines using Sri Lanka's ports.
The tournament is open to all member Agency companies of CASA.
A total of 72 teams comprising 56 Men's teams and 16 Women's teams have confirmed participation.
This year too, the Men's tournament will be worked off under floodlights from the quarterfinal stage onwards.
The tournament, which was first held in 1994, has been gaining tremendous popularity among the Shipping Agency companies, year in and year out.
A mini tournament will also be worked off among the Service Providers in the Shipping Industry, namely the Sri Lanka Customs, the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), South Asia Gateway Terminals (SAGT), Colombo International Container Terminals (CICT) and Colombo Dockyard Ltd (CDL). The CASA Sports Committee has also invited its Young Shipping Professionals to participate in the mini tournament.
