The Company of Master Marines of Sri Lanka (CMM) led by Nandika Peiris scored a thrilling two run victory over Engineers led by Chaminda de Silva at the 11th Annual Master Marines and Marine Engineers 2016 cricket encounter at the Bloomfield ground.
In this fun filled day, the main event was the match between the young engineers and CMM Members was followed by a Seniors match, Children's match and the wives of the association's match.
The event was sponsored by DNV-GL, Thanthri Marine, Reederei Noord Group and Lloyd's Registry.
Batting first CMM scored 212 for the loss of three wickets in their allotted 20 overs with Samantha Bandara been the top scorer with an unbeaten 111 and in reply the Engineers were dismissed for 210 with Chaminda de Silva top scoring with 53.
Samantha Perera of CMM was adjudged the Best Batsman while Nandika Ratnasiri and Samantha Perera were the winners of Best Bowler and Man-of-the-Final awards respectively.
The Children's match was won by CMM and the Ladies match was won by Engineers.
