Team Galle emerged champions of the Women's Super Provincial Cricket Tournament 2019 conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket which concluded.
Four teams namely Colombo, Galle, Kandy and Dambulla took part in the tournament which opened the doors for new talent for the national women's cricket team.
The champions Galle beat Team Colombo and Team Kandy on first innings and were held to a draw by Team Dambulla.
Lihini Apsara (Team Dambulla) won the Best Batter's award while the Best Bowler's and Best Allrounder's awards were won by Sulesha Thathsarani (Team Galle) and Shikari Nuwantha (Team Galle) respectively.
Team Galle was represented by Kavindi Parami (Captain), Iresha Charuni, Nilakshana Sandamini, Pooja Rashmi, Sulesha Sathsarani, Sachni Nisansala, Imesha Dulani, Teleeshiya Chaturangi, Shikari Nuwantha, Sakuni Wijesinghe, Chamari Lakshani, Tharuka Shehanim, Chathana Vimukthi, E.P. Sughandika.
Team officials were D. Priyadarshani (Manager), Bradman Ediriweera (Head Coach) and Abu Rizan (Asst. Coach).
