The much anticipated Lanka Premier League (LPL) has been postponed further according to reliable sources.
The push back has been caused after the organisers of the competition failed to obtain full clearance from the local health authorities, it is stated.
According to available information, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has requested the health authorities a period of three days of quarantine for foreign players, instead of the usual period of 14 days.
The intention of the organisers has been to expedite the procedure and shift the players to their respective franchises, in order to save time.
But the health authorities have responded negatively to the request of the organisers, who now have been forced to postpone the competition further by weeks or probably months.
If the organisers fail to obtain a positive feedback from the health authorities during the coming few days, the LPL would have to be pushed backed to October or November, according to sources.
