Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has granted Sony Six the commercial rights of the upcoming Test tour of India to Sri Lanka, the SLC announced today (8). “SLC awarded the commercial rights of the upcoming Indian Test Tour to MSM India, the owner of the popular Asian Sports Channel Sony Six. MSM were granted Global TV Broadcast rights along with Radio, Internet and Mobile rights for the territory outside Sri Lanka. MSM were also awarded the Sponsorship rights for the Indian Test tour,” a press release issued by SLC stated. “The granting of rights to MSM was decided after SLC cancelled the initial Tender process sighting the low value offered by the single bidder. MSM offered a substantially higher figure to the satisfaction of SLC. SLC is confident that MSM will bring in cutting edge production Technology to enhance the viewing experience of the global audience,” it added. Indian will tour Sri Lanka to during August to play three Test matches.
