Cricket: West Indies 'A' thrash Sri Lanka 'A' to win ODI series

West Indies 'A' thrashed Sri Lanka 'A' by 109 runs in the second Unofficial ODI played at the Welagedara Stadium in Kurunegala on Thursday (27) to clinch the series 2-0 with a game remaining. 

West Indies 'A' electing to bat piled up 347-9 with openers Kyle Hope and Chadwick Walton putting on 111 for the first wicket. 

Hope hit 107 off 110 deliveries inclusive of 10 fours and four sixes and Walton smashed 70 off 57 deliveries inclusive of 11 fours and two sixes. 

Allrounder Rovman Powell hit a cameo knock of 52 facing just 22 ball while hitting two fours and six sixes. 

Shehan Jayasuriya starred for Sri Lanka 'A' by claiming four wickets as he returned to play a lonely knock of 119 off 113 deliveries, which included 13 fours and two sixes. 

Charith Asalanka faced 59 balls to hit 44 with four boundaries and a six while Dasun Shanaka, coming down the order made 32 off 34 balls with two fours and two sixes. 

Powell returned to pick three scalps while Ronsford Beaton and Kyle Mayers claimed two wickets each. 

The final Unofficial ODI will be played on Sunday (30) at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
