Australia easily beat Sri Lanka 3-0 in the Men's Team Table Tennis Round of 16 match at the Commonwealth Games 2018 today (6).
In the first tie, Australian Heming Hu beat Rohan Sirisena in straight sets 3-0 -- 13-11, 11-2 and 11-5.
Sri Lanka sensed of a bounce-back when Udaya Ranasinghe won the first two sets against Xin Yan, who snatched the tie 3-2.
Yan beat Ranasinghe 8-11, 13-15, 11-5, 11-6 and 11-6.
In the third tie, Aussies David Powell and Heming Hu paired up to beat Rohan Sirisena and Buwaneka Jayasinghe in a five-setter thriller 3-2.
The Australian duo won with scores of 6-11, 11-3, 11-5, 10-12 and 11-2.
The Singles ties of Buwaneka Jayasinghe vs Xin Yan and Udaya Ranasinghe vs David Powell were not played after Australia bagged the match 3-0.
